Wednesday, December 9, 2009
The following is a basic guide for configuring Busy Lamp Fields on the new Cisco Small Business VoIP phone line and Switchvox by using the the web user interface of the Cisco phone. This page can also be a reference for phone side setup of Cisco Small Business phones but doesn't cover the server side hint setup for BLF on Asterisk.
By default Switchvox is setup to provide the nessasary "hints" needed for making the BLF a reality. There is no additional configuration required to monitor a user's on/off hook state. One can even monitor parking positions.
