Digium Launches new line of 24 Port PCI Express Cards - Meet the Digium AEX2400
Tuesday, January 15, 2008
Digium announced a new and exciting product today via their blog... That product is the Digium AEX2400 - A new line of hardware designed to set the pace for whats next in the PCI/Asterisk hardware category.
As the company that basically created the market for companies like Sangoma (WINK DOUG) Digium has found itself in some cases following the lead of other manufacturers. However, with this technology I am sure there will be yet another online argument or two about which came first or which is bigger. LOL
Anyways, I just wanted to drop a quick like to tell the world- the Digium AEX2400P is in stock and ready to rock...
The Digium AEX2400 is available for order in our store @

Digium receives TOP Honors as Asterisk 1.4 Wins InfoWorld's Technology of the year Award for Best IP PBX
Wednesday, January 9, 2008
It was announced today that Digium, the Corporate sponsor of Asterisk has won yet another accolade
This shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone actually following Asterisk and its maturity from garage days to full blown corporate behemoth. If it does, I'd recommend that you climb up from under that rock and visit Asterisk .org if you don’t feel like doing that I’ll summarize…
Asterisk is a complete IP PBX released as open source under the GNU Public License, Asterisk is built to run on commodity hardware, providing considerable cost savings when compared with commercial alternatives, and it leverages the open source community for additional testing, bug fixes, and feature development. Plus, Asterisk is available in many different forms, via GUI simplified and support-backed packaged solutions such as Trixbox and AsteriskNOW or as raw source code, depending on your needs.
In Closing I’ll say KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK DIGIUM! You continue to make my job easy!

Polycom Takes Top Honors with the SoundPoint IP 650 and SoundStation IP 4000
The IDG InfoWorld 2008 Technology of the Year awards have been announced, with over 40 products receiving the honor - including, within the networking category, honors for Polycom, which snagged several awards for its IP communications solutions.
Polycom received awards for individual and group communications and was also named provider of the year's best IP phone and also the best IP conference phone.
Within the categories…
The Polycom SoundPoint IP 650 was named as the year's best product for use by executives and power users; this accolade represents best of breed technology both in terms of its feature/function and its aesthetics. I can certainly agree from an end-user’s perspective. The Polycom IP 650 simply looks at home on my desk and sounds better than any phone I have ever had the pleasure of testing…
In the table top conference category the Polycom SoundStation IP 4000 takes the prize, beating competing brands like Clearone from both analogue and VoIP product lines to be termed as possibly "the best conference room speakerphone in the world".
