The much anticipated NON-Beta release of AsteriskNOW has finally been announced. The new software includes a few things that may make this the most logical solution available for people not well versed in the dark art of Linuxology.
The AsterisNOW 1.0.1 Release currently has the ability to turn a mild mannered PC into an extremely powerful IP-PBX, conference bridge, or IVR application. Features include an updated GUI, Asterisk release 1.4.17, Zaptel release 1.4.8, Linux Kernel 2.6.22, and automated Polycom Phone Provisioning.
AsteriskNOW also includes the Open Settlement Protocol and will be available in two versions AsteriskNOW! Pure, which contains only GPL and GPL compatible components and runs only the stock version of Asterisk, and AsteriskNOW! Plus which apparently has a more proprietary software arrangement.
