Signate Files for Bankruptcy?

Monday, October 8, 2007

I have been reading a few threads in various Asterisk related blogs today that seem to be speculating on whether or not Signate has gone out of business. After a bit of research it seems that there are reports of Signate having filed for bankruptcy.

Signate Inc. Files for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy -

For those of you that don't know Chapter 7 - A.K.A. Liquidation bankruptcy cancels your dept with creditors . As a result companies filing for chapter 7 may have to allow the bankruptcy court liquidate (sell) their property so that resulting funds can be presented to your creditors.

In Signate's case, they appear to have sold their intellectual property to http://www.IPGear.net however, it has not been confirmed that this was a requirement sent down from the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy courts.
